...as mentioned, the members of the pre-build tour [that would be Barb, Murray and I] arrived safe and sound.
I'm now sitting on the patio of the "Posada del Bosque", a delightful 12 room Inn, enjoying a "Pilsen" [cerveza especial desde 1866...which btw cost the equivalent of $4.41cdn a liter!!! ....but I digress ].
...anyway, to continue from where I left off at the airport, it seems my perpetual [thanks to Cuba] tan and the fact that I was waiting to depart to Buenos Aires via Santiago de Chile, suggested that I may be indigenous to that part of the world.
So much so that an older Chilean gent enquired, en espaniol, if this was the boarding area for Santiago. Much to my surprise, I fully understood and answered, en espaniol.....guess I fooled him as he started rambling away in spanish at a rate that was incomprehensible and had to quickly admit that "mi espaniol es muy pobre!".....but wait, there's more....the cabin crew on this particular flight made the same mistake and kept addressing me in spanish as well.
The flight, as mentioned earlier, was uneventful but I have to say that my seat-mates were the best!
I had the window, middle was vacant [oh to be able to stretch] and the aisle was occupied by an older, Chilean nun.[oh the piece and quiet]
The in-flight breakfast was a choice of omelette or pancakes. The nun chose the omelette and I watched as she bowed her head in prayer.
I'm not sure if it was a prayer of thanks or praying that the food was palatable.
I chose the pancakes!

As you're enjoying that "Pilsen" on the balcony of the Inn, what are the sights, smells and sounds that assail you? Have you sampled the "local" fare yet?
